Professor and Chairman Division of Urology Pediatric Urologist
Dr. Patrick McKenna is the chair and a professor in the Division of Urology in the Department of Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.D. Dr. McKenna completed his urology residency at Naval Regional Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia and later completed a Clinical/Research Fellowship in Pediatric Urology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
Dr. McKenna is a Diplomat of the American Board of Urology, a Specialty Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Pediatric Urology. He has served on national committees and in national offices with the Society for Fetal Urology, the National Kidney Foundation, the Society of Pediatric Urology, and is Secretary/Treasurer of the Illinois Urologic Society. In addition, he is a member of the American Urological Association, the Society of University Urologists, the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Pediatric Urology, the Society of Government Service Urologists, the American Medical Association, the Society for Transplantation and Board member of the North Central Section of the American Urological Association.
Dr. McKenna has given numerous lectures and presentations nationally and has written over 100 papers and abstracts.
Dr. McKenna and his wife, Linda, have three daughters and reside in Springfield.
